Group Meetings

    This group was really good actually. They taught me that blogs are really not the complicated. I thought blogs had to be like this super long detailed prestige thing but it's really just writing about what you want. After looking at everybody's portfolio I finally understood this project. It's not just something I can put off for the last second, all of my group members have already put so much time and effort into this project. It's already week four and I have nothing but a few blog posts. I am going to come next class because it is an almost four hour period so I can get a lot of blogs done that day.

    I really liked Abby's project. I love the concept and I connected with one of her characters. Panyotti's research and love for his project was actually motivating. His story is amazing, I really hope he executes it nicely because I would love to see that come to life.

    Ok so I just spoke to Panyotti alone after the group meeting because I loved his idea and I wanted to know how he planned on executing it. I asked him how he was filming, who was acting, and how was he going to plan everything. He says that he is going to use his friends to help him, he told me to use the people around me and just ask for help.

    In the group meeting Gail, I think that was her name, gave me a great idea for my film. Instead of a rom-com, I should do a mystery, which I really liked. I liked this because my original idea is that my protagonist found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her with her best friend. But she gave the idea that the boyfriend cheated on her with a mystery girl. I genuinely loved that idea because then the rest of the movie could be about her trying to find out who this girl is.

    This group meeting was really great for me and I learned a lot from it. So I am going to make a blogging and filming schedule. I am also going to talk to my girlfriend more and ask her how she planned and executed her portfolio project. Great success!

Movie Summary

    This blog will be a quick outline to just help me visualize how the film is going to be. I know I am going to make a romantic comedy with the lead role being a woman, so now I need to think of the content. As of right now my idea is to make a film opening which shows the woman in an extreme state of depression. She lost someone, I don't know if I should make it a boyfriend or family member. I think boyfriend would be better. So she lost her boyfriend because he just said that he is done with her.

    

    So the scene begins with a shot of the phone, and the phone was the text of her ex that says something like, "We're done" or "I don't love you anymore." No I don't like that, I think it will be better on a call. She's on the phone with her boyfriend screaming at him, but the first shot is a shot of the door to her room. But in the background we can hear her screaming. Then the next shot is her in her room screaming on the phone but you can't hear the guy. She is screaming at him because she found out he cheated. Once she is done venting she will say "I HATE YOU." and hang up the phone and throw it.

    After she throws her phone she storms out of her room, down the stairs, to the front door. She grabs her keys then drives to her bestfriends house where she then will discover that her boyfriend is cheating on her with her bestfriend. She then will say, "What the fu-" then movie title. Which I don't know what it will be. I was thinking "A New Chance" because the rest of the movie is how a new guy moves into town and they fall in love.

    

    There's still a lot to work on but this is the main idea of the opening. I'll probably add like a 5 second clip after the opening to signal that like the movie is starting now. I think I'll try to record this and along the way I will see what works and what doesn't and what needs improvement. 

Intro

     Well here it is, the portfolio project. Not going to lie I'm pretty nervous for it. It's a big percentage of our grade and final so there's a lot of pressure on this project. But to get right into things I have some ideas.

    While watching the samples Ms. Stoklosa showed us I was just thinking about how I would approach this. I would love to be in the video but I think it would come out better if I was the directors and cinematographer. The first idea I had in my head was the sad clown paradox. There's this youtuber that I watch called "The Canvas" and he made a video on the sad clown paradox. We see this paradox in Todd Phillips' "Joker". I wanted to start off my video by maybe somebody giving a stand up comedy skit and then hours later they're drinking alcohol alone and crying. Something like that. But I thought it was too much like the Joker. So I thought of something new.

    I love to fight, I've been doing MMA since as long as I could remember. So maybe I could do something on that. This year was my first year on the Cypress Bay Wrestling Team, so maybe my film opening could be the pre match talk the coach gives his wrestler before a big match. I just need an adult and a kid to play in this. I would also need like a locker room area. Maybe they are in the locker room right before the big match in a big arena with hundreds watching.

    Maybe I'm being too eccentric, I should just keep it simple. I don't want to do a montage because I don't really like them. I want to make an opening with a lot of meaning. I still have a lot to think about. But for now those are my only two ideas, I think they're a little bit too complicated so I will try to think about something simpler.
