Creative Critical Reflection
CCR! Two time CCR champion. I have no idea what I'm saying but here's my CCR.
Finale
Wow it's finally over. I can't believe I'm actually saying that, it's finally over. After all these weeks, all the work, the filming, the editing, the blogging, and everything, it's all over. I've had a love-hate relationship with this project. I think if it wasn't for my girlfriend it would just be a hate relationship. She really made this film what it is. She made everything possible, she helped me with every single aspect of the project.
I will say one thing though I will not miss the blogs hahaha. This blog is like my "oh shit" moment that Ms. Stoklosa always talks about. It's like a reality check of how fast time has gone by and that in a few months I'm gone. I'm really appreciative of this project because not only did it teach me about production but it really taught me things about myself and of my girlfriend.
I never knew how important communication really was. And I mean it's really important. Especially since I am going to Penn State and my girlfriend is a junior, communication is key. But yeah this is just a little blog to just thank you Ms. Stoklosa and thank Cambridge for not making a boring exam like all the others. And for actually teaching us something instead of just making us "do" it. Ms. Stoklosa always says we're great doers, and she's completely right. But when we learn something we really do take it in, well at least some of us.
So that's the end. In case I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.

Script for the Second CCR
Hey everybody, my name is Santiago Valencia and I am here to talk to you about my journey of filming the film opening for my movie "The Affair". First I wanted to talk about how my production skills developed throughout this project.
Firstly, it was essential to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of filmmaking, including shot composition, lighting, and camera movement. A deep understanding of these elements helped me ensure that the shots were well-framed, properly lit, and visually engaging. Experimenting with different angles and camera movements added interest to the film opening and made it more dynamic.
Secondly, it was important to pay attention to the audio quality. Poor audio can detract from even the most visually stunning sequence. Using high-quality microphones and recording equipment can ensure that dialogue and sound effects are clear and well-balanced. I didn't have any of this, so I had to use my phone's audio and I didn't get the result I wanted, but I learned. What did make my opening a bit more professional was properly mixing the audio elements which helped create a more immersive experience for the viewer.
Thirdly, effective collaboration with my partner was crucial in ensuring that the vision for the film opening was realized. A director's vision can be interpreted and executed in various ways, and working collaboratively with my girlfriend lead to a more cohesive and effective film opening.
Lastly, continuous learning and improvement were vital in developing and refining my production skills. Critically analyzing the film opening, researching the works of other filmmakers, and seeking feedback from my partner helped identify areas for improvement and refine techniques.
The second thing I would like to talk about is how I integrated technologies in this project.
I used iMovie, which was an excellent software tool for editing a film opening. It is user-friendly, affordable, and offers a wide range of features and capabilities that helped me create a professional-looking film opening.
One of the primary benefits of using iMovie to edit is its easy-to-use interface. The software is designed to be intuitive, with drag-and-drop functionality that makes it easy to import footage and begin editing. The interface is also customizable, which allowed me to arrange and size windows to suit their workflow.
Another advantage of using iMovie is its compatibility with a range of video formats. This means that I was able to easily import footage from different cameras and devices without the need for additional software or plugins. Additionally, iMovie's integration with other Apple software tools, such as Final Cut Pro and Motion, provides a streamlined workflow for more complex projects.
iMovie also offers a range of editing features that can help create visually stunning scenes. These include basic editing tools like trimming, cutting, and splitting clips, as well as more advanced features like color correction, audio editing, and the ability to add transitions and visual effects. iMovie also includes a library of pre-made templates and themes that can be customized to suit the style of the film opening.
In summary, using iMovie to edit the film opening was an excellent choice in retrospect. It allowed me to create everything I wanted to create and even more. Any another app that does the same I would've had to pay and it would've probably taken some time to get used to. So iMovie was the best option.

Hey everybody welcome back to the "What's Film" podcast. In today's episode I have some questions from you guys asking me about the Film I released last episode. So let's see what you guys have to say. So "Film Enthusiast 1999" asks, "How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups?"
That's a very good question Film Enthusiast 1999. Well to answer the first part of your question, in the film I actually used conventions of a romantic comedy/romantic drama. This genre of movie usually has montages of falling in love. So I added that to the beginning of the film to already establish happiness. My girlfriend and I are the actors so we spent time together being happy and then I proposed to her. But as we all know not everything goes right with love. Hence the romantic drama aspect. After the happy montage my girlfriend leaves on a trip and I stay home. Before she leaves I make her breakfast with her favorite jelly, which I hate. She leaves for a while but when she comes back home her jelly is fully eaten. The last scene where she realizes her jelly is gone creates that drama and maybe even suspension. Who ate the jelly? We don't have any kids, so am I having an affair? Dun dun dun.
And to answer the second part of your question. I believe my film represents the social group of the people who have been cheated on. Many people have felt this before, that feeling when you find out that the person you love and trust is not who you thought they were. It's a horrible feeling. I've felt it before. It leave you in a dark place, like an abyss. So I wanted to relate to the people who felt the same. I made this film to connect with that social group that has been hurt the way I have.
Sorry to get deep on you guys there but that's film. Let's see the second question here. This is from "I Love Santi". Thank you by the way I love you too. Anyway, they asked, "How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?"
Well to answer your question, my film engages with the audience by invoking the sense of emotion one feels when they have discovered that their partner is being unfaithful. The raw emotion of love is one we all can connect and reside with, so I chose it to better connect my film to the audience. As far as where I could distribute my film, April 14th to the 23rd is the Florida Film Festival. This year is the 32nd annual festival so that will 100% be the plan to distribute. Of course I can distribute it in other film festivals like the Palm Beach or the Fort Meyers festival. But the Florida Film Festival would be ideal.

Research for Podcast CCR
After doing some research on podcast I found four types of podcast that I thought would fit well for a CCR. Here are the four I chose:
1. Interview Podcasts:
Interview podcasts are among the most popular types of shows. In this format, the host interviews a guest or guests, often experts in their field, to discuss a particular topic. Examples of interview podcasts include The Tim Ferriss Show and The Joe Rogan Experience.
2. News Podcasts:
News podcasts provide listeners with up-to-date information on current events. These shows may cover a range of topics, from politics to sports to entertainment. Examples of news podcasts include The Daily from The New York Times and Up First from NPR.
3. Comedy Podcasts:
Comedy podcasts provide listeners with laughs and entertainment. These shows may include interviews, sketches, and humorous commentary on current events. Examples of comedy podcasts include Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend and Comedy Bang Bang.
4. Personal Narrative Podcasts:
Personal narrative podcasts tell the story of the host or a guest, often exploring their personal experiences and emotions. These shows may be in the form of a memoir or diary. Examples of personal narrative podcasts include This American Life and Radiolab.
I think out of these four I'll probably do a mix of interview and personal narrative podcast. For the interview part though it'll be like I'm choosing questions that my listeners listen to through twitter or some sort of social media. And for the personal narrative part I'll talk about the film and what I went through and what it means to me.

Sound for the Film
Once I had the whole film planned out, it wasn't difficult at all to find the perfect sound or music for the film. The beginning of the film is my girlfriend and I acting happy and in love and then I propose to her. The most famous happy marriage montage in all of movie history has to be the scene from "Up". So I had to use the track, "Married Life", for my film. It just fit perfectly.
I had to find the uncopyrighted version of the song. So I looked for a cover of the song on YouTube and the first one that popped up worked. Here is the link for the song, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbwGn9zJtQI. The song is covered by The Piano Lab. All I had to do now to put the song into my film was convert the YouTube video into a mp3. Once I converted it I put it into my film on iMovie and cut it to fit the length of the beginning of my opening. Here is a picture of the editing process of the music.
